Human Resources Generalist

 Impress North America is a division of a worldwide metal packaging manufacturer with plans for a new plant in Conklin, NY.  The Human Resources Generalist is a hands-on, key member of the plant start-up and management team with responsibility for all HR administration including payroll, coordination of technical/new hire training, team member recruiting and heavy involvement in creation of a self-managed work force.  Minimum Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years exposure to innovative HR practices, preferably in a manufacturing environment.  Must have payroll and HR admin. background with excellent systems and Excel skills.  Ability to move into HR Manager role within 2-3 years. The HR Coordinator provides a broad range of duties primarily for the Human Resource department and other departments as needed. 

 Core HR duties :

 

  • Input new hires and terminations into HRIS system
  • Responsible for updating and distributing  organization charts monthly
  • Prepare new hire enrollment and offer packets
  • Acts as key liaison for candidates before and after interview process
  • Updates applicant track system
  • Prepares job folders
  • Prepare new hire and termination reports
  • Responsible for ensuring training agendas are in place for new hires
  • Post jobs and maintains the company's internal and external website
  • Assist with reference checks.
  • Manages all logistics associated with training and communications events including: securing dates, attendees, locations and speakers; coordinating event set up and material preparation

  • Update and maintain integrity of employee data for HRIS interface

Required Skills / Experience:

- 3-5 years Human Resources experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
- 3-5 years of strong PC literacy including proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (particularly PowerPoint and Excel); Applicant tracking systems, report writing programs such as Crystal Reports or business objects.
- 3-5 years experience with HRIS databases

Preferred Skills / Experience:

- Ability to multi task and execute projects with quality and on time delivery. 
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.

Employee will potentially be working to source and hire job applicants that fall into multiple categories such as Entry Level Professionals and Experienced Professionals. Depending on business need additional duties such as hosting recruiting events, attending job fairs, and other potential requirements may arise. Travel to corporate events as deemed necessary is required. Overall travel is minimal, but can be heavy at times. The employee will work very closely with the management team throughout the site requiring superior customer service and communication skills. Additionally, the employee will work very closely on extremely confidential and personal information with job applicants requiring him/her to come up with creative solutions as situations call for them. Make recommendations for hiring with both the HR team and hiring managers. Follow all necessary compliance measures as dictated by both Lockheed Martin and outside applicable government agencies.
