STAHR EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

In attendance were the following people:  John Sassani, Robin Eccleston, Douglas Moore, Kim Weinstein, Karol Hill, Roy Brock

• SHRM awarded the Superior Merit Chapter designation to STAHR for its scope of work in perpetuating and supporting the mission of the organization in 2007.  Look for our specialized banner in recognition of this award on display at upcoming STAHR meetings!

• April 22, 2008 is slated for the STAHR/JSEC Healthy Workforce Program and Expo. Currently 46 have signed up to attend, with 8 vendors signed on.
• The annual STAHR golf tournament is scheduled for Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at Hiawatha Golf Club; tee off is planned for the morning. The cost is $70/person, $280/team.  Resend the announcement.
• The next STAHR meeting will be the morning of May 6^th. The topic will be Communicating in the Multi-Generational Workplace.
• Roy Brock is working on fall meeting topic ideas one of which would be a Staffing Workshop directed to the non-HR audience and focusing on behavioral interviewing. Others could include Performance Management, Professionalism in Networking, Morale Management. Offering a Legal Minute at future meetings to discuss any “hot” topics in Labor Laws.
• Executive Committee records retention.  Kim Weinstein will organize STAHR’s files.
• The Committee discussed the option of offering payment to speakers of STAHR events.
• Next scheduled Executive Committee meeting is April 16, 2008 at 7:30 a.m.

 

2008 CAP INITIATIVES

Doug Moore participated in a co-leadership foundation call on April 3, 2008.

Doug Moore and Robin Eccleston attended the Broome Tioga Workforce meeting on April 17, 2008.

Karol Hill attended an FMLA seminar sponsored by CNY SHRM and presented by attorneys of the law firm Bond, Schoeneck & King, PLLC.

 STAHR EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

In attendance were the following people:  John Sassani, Robin Eccleston, Douglas Moore, Kim Weinstein, Karol Hill

• A membership audit revealed 19 additional new members, however net membership is down by 30. 
• A calendar of events has been added to the estahr website. 
• The Chapter Activity Planning (CAP) for 2007 has been submitted.
• Robin will forward copies of the CAP plan to all Committee members.
• A link to SHRM’s news feed has been added to the chapter website.
• A section in the chapter website will be set up for key contacts and information related to community disaster agencies. Robin
• Binghamton Club has increased the cost of dinner and dessert. The Executive Committee will not increase the cost of STAHR program dinners.

• Robin has been posting the Ithaca and Elmira chapters events on the estahr website.  

• Robin will confirm with Sheri Lamoureux that she will be able to promote the Chapter’s communication pieces. E-mail blasts, Newsletter.
• April 10, 2008 is slated for the STAHR/JSEC Healthy Workforce Program and Expo.
• Bob Crounse is working on having Trent Patterson from the reality show “Biggest Losers” being the keynote speaker at the HWP&E event on April 10^th.  The Executive Committee is considering moving the event to May.
• The annual STAHR golf tournament is scheduled for Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at Hiawatha Golf Club, tee off is planned for the morning. The cost is $70/person, $280/team.  Sue Surgent will work on an announcement for this event to be sent out soon.
• The next newsletter article is due Friday, March 21, 2008.
• Next scheduled Executive Committee meeting is April 16, 2008 at 7:30 a.m.
